I agree with all that the other reviewers have said. These two young people have had more than their share of trials. I hope that Mr. Block continues writing -- either fiction or non-fiction as I think that he is very skilled with words.I am quite as passionate about my beliefs as Mr. Block is, so I didn't think that the little side trails off the reason for writing his book did any good for me, but perhaps someone younger and undecided as to his/her political beliefs may appreciate and learn something from the digression.
I sincerely give this book five stars for the book touched my heart, and for me, that is why I read.

This book truly moved me on several occasions. I enjoyed the way the piece jumps from the present to the past in diferent chapters. A true account of true love, and devotion above and beyond. This is especially pertinent with the health care debacle occurring in this country.
This book was so captivating that I finished it in a day. I could not put it down. Having been a caregiver, it helped to read someone else's account of the day to struggles one goes through and the love story contained within the autobiography is one of true dedication and commitment. I found it to be a perfect mix of politics, health care issues, day to challenges, and adventures.
Read it in one afternoon and was amazed at how easily it read. Most of us don't expect to have to live through the type of trials that Mr. Block and his lovely wife Debbie have endured. When these incidents occur we don't have the knowledge or tools we would like to handle them. Thank you, Mr Block, for sharing your experiences. Thank you for expressing the love , devotion and stress of enduring so carefully.
A touching and inspirational story about a man's steadfast love for his wife, even in the midst of circumstances that seem almost insurmountable. It made me think about what it is to be a husband and to question how many of us - myself
included - would have the resolve to walk this walk.
Jeff Block writes of the nine long years that he and his wife, Debbie, have survived her brain cancer. The book is both touching and informative. The perserverance they both have shown is remarkable, and an inspiration for anyone going through a similar situation. It also served as a reminder to me (not beset by such challenging circumstances) to appreciate each effortless step I take. Mr. Block's book reads easily, though clearly describing an incredibly difficult journey. Jeff and Debbie, keep on truckin'!
Nine Years After
This is a poignant and personal story told by a devoted husband who put his life on hold to care for his loving wife. Jeff Block was in his forties when he learned that the love of his life, Debbie, had brain cancer. The book's title, "Nine Years After", makes reference to the time period between his wife's diagnosis and the time he began writing about it. In this powerful and inspirational book, Jeff chronicles his typical days as a caregiver while sharing his inner most thoughts and feelings with us. This truly is a must read book.
I finished this book with tears in my eyes and knowing I will reread this book and keep Jeff and Debbie in my thoughts for years to come. What a wonderful inspirational story of love, loyalty and determination. It was also particularly interesting, as an Australian who enjoys an amazingly supportive medical system, to read about the challenges faced by Americans going through situations that require ongoing medical support. It made me feel incredibly grateful for our system as well as grateful for my own good health and that of my family. It can all turn in an instant as it did for this lovely couple and their story of facing up to the unthinkable really makes you stop and count your blessings.
Jeff's style of writing is wonderful. He writes honestly and candidly about his and Debbie's experiences and doesn't try to paint himself as a martyr or saint; just a man trying to manage as best he can with an unthinkable situation. Reading his words you get a real sense of these two both as a couple and as individuals. I'm left feeling as if I know and really like them both.
Debbie, Jeff, I wish you both all the very best for your future.
